Testimonials

I am very impressed by TMG's prompt and direct response, value added to the early stages of the analysis, idea generation, capability to mobilize experts internationally and flexibility to be fully engaged when the opportunity arose. I can thoroughly recommend TMG to prospective clients requiring maritime expertise.

MG have supported Serco on a number of projects in the last six years which has helped us enter and grow in the maritime transport market. On the bid for Northern Isles Ferry Services in Scotland in 2011 TMG were instrumental in providing technical, operational, safety and commercial advice about operating a ferry business which was crucial in enabling us to provide a compelling winning bid. The support continued into 2012 once we had won with members of the TMG team playing key roles in mobilising to take over the contract and then bedding in the new Serco approach. Since then TMG have undertaken a number of supporting roles on studies for potential growth opportunities and due diligence the most significant being the comprehensive assessment and compilation of facts, figures and analysis of vessels, ports and the operation of the Clyde & Hebrides Ferries network in Scotland. This major piece of work was crucial in enabling us to develop a compelling transformational proposition for that ferry network in the bid we prepared during 2015 and 2016. The TMG team are always very committed to the projects and work extremely well with the Serco team always keen to use their knowledge and expertise to supplement our own. The recent move toward ISO accreditation is very welcome and is definitely something we value in ensuring our suppliers are using established practices for quality management.

TMG was retained to conduct a security assessment for International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) regarding its planned AGM in Istanbul. I was entirely satisfied that TMG carried out a comprehensive risk assessment as tasked and enabled me to evaluate effectively the risks and associated preparatory measures to take the meeting forward. It was clear that TMG was well resourced for this kind of work and the nature of the report and the timely manner in which it was produced were most satisfactory. I would use the services of TMG again in similar circumstances.

The Maritime Group International has worked as specialist sub-consultants to PBA on the studied mentioned above over a number of years. They have provided a range of services in relation to the operation of vehicle and passenger ferry services primarily in the Scottish context. This has included advice on technical, operation and financial matters with respect to the operation of these services. It has also included advice on the specification of types of vessel suitable for different operating environments and harbour infrastructure systems. Their work met the delivery schedule, was carried out satisfactorily and was on budget.

We have worked with TMG over many years on several maritime projects and they have always provided us with a high quality of service. Our experience has been that TMG’s staff have a vast depth of knowledge in the operations and management of a large range of vessel types and activities. They have always been keen and enthusiastic to explore a wide range of possible options in helping us to develop the best solution.
The Gogha/Dahej Ferry Service in Gujarat, India is a complex project and the first RoRo ferry service in India and, with a large tidal range, the conditions are challenging. TMG have supported our terminal designs with advice on the types of vessel that could be used and the modes of operation at the terminals and on the ferry routes. This work has extended over several years from the initial site assessment visit through to identifying a long list of potential ferry operators, using TMG’s extensive network of contacts.
For the Grimsby Slipway project we have refurbished an old rundown fishing vessel repair facility into a modern repair yard with a new boatlift focused towards the thriving offshore energy support vessels. We needed a projection of likely users in order to identify the most appropriate size for the designs. TMG prepared a demand study with analysis of the other local repair yards and the upcoming requirements for repair of vessels in the region.
We have been very pleased with TMG’s work and I am sure that we will be working with them again in the near future.
